Most of us have a hope that God will take care of us, but is that what we think trust is? You see, we may find a sense of comfort in believing God will come through, but that doesn’t always change the anxiety in the present.
Yes, Paul believed in God's provision. But what gave Paul supernatural peace was his understanding that God is always good, and that Paul himself couldn’t do anything good without surrendering to Him. When these two beliefs are held, we surrender daily, confess daily, and give thanks daily. All of which bring heaven to earth, and with it the supernatural peace.
As someone who feels the need to be in control, anxiety is a big part of my existence. Because the truth is, we can never control it all—we weren’t meant to carry that burden!
If Jesus is who He says He is, we don’t have to live this way! We can walk confidently, knowing that whatever happens, He is always with us, has our best interests in mind, is always good, AND is in complete control.
When your life is saturated by His peace, how different do you respond in high-stress, or unexpected circumstances? You know what, my friends, that’s what makes an unbelieving world notice, because that’s part of what sets us, as Christ-followers, apart.
Philippians 4.6-7
6 Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.
