Faith Like Rahab [Joshua 2.1-24]

Rahab believed and she received what she was promised. Protection from the spies Joshua had sent. A life for a life. I find it interesting how in verse 16 Rahab instructs the spies to hide for the days just as Jonah was in the whale for three days and Jesus remained dead for three days before he rose. Isn’t it beautiful that every bible story somehow weaves in the message of our Lord Jesus and each story points to him? Such a mighty God we serve.

Standing in the Gap [Philemon 1.8-14]

Standing in the Gap [Philemon 1.8-14]

How often do we, like Paul, stand in the gap for others in the midst of their struggle? How often do wear bear others’ burdens and thus fulfill the law of Christ? How often do we like, Christ, lay ourselves down, our preferences down, and our will down for the will of the father and in turn, impact lives? Oh, how I wish it were so, and always being said, that we, like Paul, have died to self and live for Christ and his will alone. This side of glory we will struggle to do so until we see him face to face.

Another Way to Love - Serve [Titus 2.9-10]

Another Way to Love - Serve [Titus 2.9-10]

While these verses were written to bondservants back in biblical times, they can easily apply to each of us today as we serve our bosses, churches, employers, governments, and one another. Do we do so joyfully, blessing those whom we serve, and do we do so faithfully? Because when we do, we spread the love of Christ and are witnesses to the gospel without so much as a word!

Our Words, Our Witness [Colossians 4.5-6]

Our Words, Our Witness [Colossians 4.5-6]

These verses convicted me. How do I speak to those who do not share my faith on the day you day? And how do you? Better yet, how do we both show grace and also plant seeds of faith? We so so by the power of the Holy Spirit at work within us helping us "make the most of every opportunity" we do so by being as "cunning as sergeants but as harmless as doves" as we are "in the world but not of the world" as heaven is our true home. By witnessing us both gentle and strong, loving and true, "outsiders' are drawn to the God we serve. I saw a quote that read, "Evangelize the world, if necessary, use words. May our witness and words be attractive to outsiders and God ve glorified in them.
