Holy Ground [Luke 19.45-48]

Holy Ground [Luke 19.45-48]

Today's passage is one of a number of times a physical location is identified as being set apart specifically for God's purpose (others include Mount Horeb/Sinai where the burning bush and later 10 commandments, Exodus 3.5 and Exodus 19.12, and a place by Jericho, Joshua 5.15, etc.). These places are set apart for specific purposes in line with God's will. When people sought to corrupt this space for their own will, Jesus continued His mission: redeeming and reclaiming for God that which had been lost. May the word of God encourage us to actively follow Christ's example, starting with our own homes.

Jesus Weeps Over the City [Luke 19.41-44]

Jesus Weeps Over the City [Luke 19.41-44]

Jesus enters the temple on Palm Sunday. God’s house was to be a house of prayer for all nations but instead, they had turned God’s house into a den of robbers. What does Jesus do to reframe? He teaches daily in the temple! The word of God is so powerful that it can transform lives. They hang on to the words of Jesus as He teaches. During this Easter season may we once again be wowed by the words of Jesus!

David

Without Excuse [Psalm 19.1]

As we heard the first message on 2 Corinthians 3.18, Joey encouraged us to remove the veil. To summarize his message, the first step to experiencing gospel transformation is to be honest, bring our sin into the light, and remove the veils we hide behind. The passage this morning from Psalm 19 brings about a great truth of how God graciously reveals himself in creation.

Brought Forth [Psalm 51]

You can run Psalm 51 through the lens of your own life, through the lens of David’s life...through many lenses. “All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness”, and all Scripture is amazingly connected. We just closed out Numbers, and so let’s run the Midinates through the lens of Psalm 51.
