Whenever we are weak and feeling like God can't understand, God doesn’t love us, or anything similar, then this passage is like soup for the soul. It reminds us where we were, how we were saved, and the glories that await us.

Continuing in our detour from Luke, today we are reminded that everything we have, all we are, and all we ever will be is built on Christ alone, the Cornerstone. My mind can’t help but sing along in my thoughts with Hillsong Worship, Christ alone, cornerstone, weak made strong in the Saviors love, through the storm, he is Lord, Lord of ALL.

In this upcoming election, both sides are promising that if we just vote for them, we will cease to be divided and that “our” interests will be put first, and that the future will be great and perfect. Just pull the correct lever. We know that this is a gravely false promise that the father of lies is behind. In today’s reading, we get a lovely, admirable, excellent, and praiseworthy promise: that we are being joined together into a temple in the Lord.
