Today's passage is a simply stated command, but one that will challenge us our entire lives. It points to the first of the great commandments Jesus gave to summarize the Law, from Matthew 22.37-39…This week, we saw Paul wrestling with these loves. He desperately longed to be with Jesus. However, he also loved those whom he had been pouring into and wanted their success. He understood the needs of the people, and the increased glory to God they will be able to give as Paul continued his work of teaching and equipping them for every good work. He ultimately puts today's verse into practice.
