Jude

Praise Our Keeper [Jude 24-25]

Today's passage provides a welcome conclusion to this insightful but jarring book. Jude lays out the very real spiritual warfare domain in which we find ourselves, but this conclusion affirms that this battle is not ours to win, nor is our wellbeing ours to secure. Rather, we are utterly reliant on God. May the word of God comfort and encourage us, knowing He is our sustainer and worthy of all our praise!

Wait on the Lord [Jude 17-23]

Wait on the Lord [Jude 17-23]

I find it oddly comforting that we are currently living in "the last times," the time between when Jesus first came and when He will come again. I feel a connection to those who walked out the days of the early church, as they too were living in the last times. And our call today is just as vital as it was then. If you are waiting for the right time to grow in your relationship with Jesus or talk to others about Him, take action now. You're alive today, in the last times. Seek Him and know Him and share Him with every fiber of your being. Act out His grace and mercy. Wait only on the Lord. Your time is now.

Hold Fast [Jude 1-4]

Hold Fast [Jude 1-4]

Jude, a brother of James and a brother of Jesus, writes to a group of Christians to contend for the faith that was first delivered to them. “To Contend” can be described as asserting something as a position in an argument. Jude says to assert that the only way is through their original faith. He speaks to a body of believers with an infection in their midst; this infection has the power to alter the true meaning of grace found in the teachings of Christ Jesus. A bacterial infection can easily cause more damage to the body if not stopped by an antibiotic. The infection, or the perversion of grace and denial of Jesus as Christ, can only be stopped if the body actively takes an antibiotic, or doses of true faith. Hold fast and uphold the faith displayed by Jesus.
