Today we’re focusing on Mary’s song of praise. It must be mind-boggling for her to know that the Messiah, the Promised Savior, is in her womb. What joy there is in seeing God’s promises fulfilled!
We are confronted with a promise that there will be a coming King who will be the one to create a new covenant. But it seems like this covenant holds a very serious weight, and brings a whirlwind of emotion and action.
This passage serves as a promise to those who revere God and long to see his righteousness prevail. Like calves released from their stall into the sunlight they will leap about with sheer relief and exuberance that his righteousness has triumphed.
