Obedience Because of Christ’s Sacrifice [Philippians 2.12-13]

After Paul gives us this amazing picture of the humility and love of Christ for us, he charges the Philippians and us towards obedience. He basically says, since Christ has done all this for you, how can you not but want to obey the one who saved you. But not only that, God will work within you to help you obey, for it is in your obedience you will feel his joy.

Philippians 2.12-13

12 Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling, 13 for it is God who works in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure.
