Don’t Look Back [Luke 9.62]

What reasons do people have for giving up? Maybe they lose belief that something is possible? They don't experience the results they were expecting?

Have you felt like giving up? Have you ever felt like throwing in the towel? We all have! This passage is not saying that you disqualified yourself when you are discouraged or doubting. Instead, it is encouraging us to keep our hands on the plow, and focus on today. A plower's goal was to create straight lines across the field, enabling the best opportunity for harvest. If he takes his hand off and looks back, he will not be able to create straight lines, but instead he will make crooked ones.

If you set out, committed to serve the Lord, keep your eyes fixed on Him and don't allow the distractions that you used to focus on draw your attention away. Unswervingly focus on Him who is before you and allow His forgiveness and grace give you the will to press forward.

Luke 9.62

62 Jesus replied, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”
