Easter 2022

Holy Ground [Luke 19.45-48]

Holy Ground [Luke 19.45-48]

Today's passage is one of a number of times a physical location is identified as being set apart specifically for God's purpose (others include Mount Horeb/Sinai where the burning bush and later 10 commandments, Exodus 3.5 and Exodus 19.12, and a place by Jericho, Joshua 5.15, etc.). These places are set apart for specific purposes in line with God's will. When people sought to corrupt this space for their own will, Jesus continued His mission: redeeming and reclaiming for God that which had been lost. May the word of God encourage us to actively follow Christ's example, starting with our own homes.

Jesus Weeps Over the City [Luke 19.41-44]

Jesus Weeps Over the City [Luke 19.41-44]

Jesus enters the temple on Palm Sunday. God’s house was to be a house of prayer for all nations but instead, they had turned God’s house into a den of robbers. What does Jesus do to reframe? He teaches daily in the temple! The word of God is so powerful that it can transform lives. They hang on to the words of Jesus as He teaches. During this Easter season may we once again be wowed by the words of Jesus!
