Holy Ground [Luke 19.45-48]

Today's passage is one of a number of times a physical location is identified as being set apart specifically for God's purpose (others include Mount Horeb/Sinai where the burning bush and later 10 commandments, Exodus 3.5 and Exodus 19.12, and a place by Jericho, Joshua 5.15, etc.). These places are set apart for specific purposes in line with God's will. When people sought to corrupt this space for their own will, Jesus continued His mission: redeeming and reclaiming for God that which had been lost. May the word of God encourage us to actively follow Christ's example, starting with our own homes.

[Luke 19.45-48]

19.45 And he entered the temple and began to drive out those who sold, 46 saying to them, “It is written, ‘My house shall be a house of prayer,’ but you have made it a den of robbers.” 47 And he was teaching daily in the temple. The chief priests and the scribes and the principal men of the people were seeking to destroy him, 48 but they did not find anything they could do, for all the people were hanging on his words.
