Yesterday, we studied with Luke that the enemies of Christ set their minds on earthly things and where they end up isn’t pretty.
We, on the other hand, are encouraged by Paul to set our minds on our heavenly calling and destination while also, hopefully, rescuing the enemies of the Cross from darkness into light by cooperating with the nudges of the Holy Spirit.
In such a time as the world is having in 2020, it is comforting to know we heaven is our true home. Heck, it is comforting in all times. As if that weren’t enough, Jesus also promises to transform our “lowly”, i.e, decaying and aging and mortal bodies into the likeness of his-perfect, immortal, and eternal. Grab hold of that thought today dear brothers and sisters when this world or your body seek to pull you down.
Philippians 3.20-21
20 But our citizenship is in heaven, and from it we await a Savior, the Lord Jesus Christ, 21 who will transform our lowly body to be like his glorious body, by the power that enables him even to subject all things to himself.
