Is your conscience clear? Are there things eating away at your soul? Are there things that you have buried away that resurface?
You see, when we put our faith and trust in Jesus and His work on our behalf, our normal human nature still exists. That’s why verse 9, as Steve mentioned yesterday is so important.
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more in knowledge and depth of insight, Philippians 1:9 NIV
It is so important that our love and knowledge for Christ abounds more and more. Whether in a community or a discipleship band, we must pursue this.
As Jesus grows our love for Him, we become more sensitive to the guidance of the Holy Spirit - leading us in our next right step, and reminding us of who He is and who He says we are.
So I strive always to keep my conscience clear before God and man. Acts 24:16 NIV
Why? Why do we need a clear conscience? Check out verse 10. So we can discern and be ready for when Christ returns.
Ultimately to make us into His image, one degree to the next. So ask yourself, is my conscience clear?
Philippians 1.10
10 so that you may be able to discern what is best and may be pure and blameless for the day of Christ
