In these verses, we find another opportunity to love like Christ, submissively and joyfully. Paul, writing to Titus, gives clear instruction on how blessing one’s master looks, in everything. Be pleasant and willing to do all one is asked and be faithful to those who serve, not stealing anything that is not yours, but serving them honestly.
While these verses were written to bondservants back in biblical times, they can easily apply to each of us today as we serve our bosses, churches, employers, governments, and one another. Do we do so joyfully, blessing those whom we serve, and do we do so faithfully? Because when we do, we spread the love of Christ and are witnesses to the gospel without so much as a word!
[Titus 2.9-10]
2.9 Bondservants are to be submissive to their own masters in everything; they are to be well-pleasing, not argumentative, 10 not pilfering, but showing all good faith, so that in everything they may adorn the doctrine of God our Savior.
