Wilderness [Matthew 4:1-4]

After Jesus was baptised by John the Baptist and began his public ministry, What is the first thing He does? He goes alone into the wilderness to be tempted by satan.

Interesting, right? How often are we taking time to be alone with God? How do we respond when tempted? This passage opens up a lot of questions that we should sit in for a while, and seek out scripture to answer. Jesus sets the perfect example of how to respond in these situations, and how to walk in his way. May you be encouraged and filled with the spirit today. Praise King Jesus.

Matthew 4:1-4

1 Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. 2 And after fasting forty days and forty nights, he was hungry. 3 And the tempter came and said to him, “If you are the Son of God, command these stones to become loaves of bread.” 4 But he answered, “It is written,

“‘Man shall not live by bread alone,
but by every word that comes from the mouth of God.’”
