Rules for the Christians [Colossians 3.22-4.1]

This passage gives us some really tangible action steps. Although they may sound easy upon initial reading; obey with a sincere heart, work heartily for the Lord, treat people fairly… We may think “Yeah I totally do those things every day” ... But do we? These things implemented into a daily rhythm are far from easy, in fact, they’re impossible to do without the help of the Lord. With our hearts transformed by God, we can do these things.

We can implement these steps into our day-to-day lives and continue to let the truth of Jesus transform our hearts and those around us. I’ll be praying for everyone who reads this passage today that the words would be transformative and that we would continue through our days fervently serving our Lord Jesus.

[Colossians 3.22-4.1]

3.22 Bondservants, obey in everything those who are your earthly masters, not by way of eye-service, as people-pleasers, but with sincerity of heart, fearing the Lord. 23 Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, 24 knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ. 25 For the wrongdoer will be paid back for the wrong he has done, and there is no partiality.

4.1 Masters, treat your bondservants justly and fairly, knowing that you also have a Master in heaven.
