Whew! This passage is saying so, so much. It’s hard to know where to start and so I pray. I usually do before writing. I need GOD’S help. The whole passage is saying this. We need GOD’s help and GOD helps us all.
First, he causes us to believe, by the power of the Holy Spirit, in Jesus Christ and his atonement for ALL our sins. (Miracle 1) Then, he covers these same sins with the baptism of Christ’s blood shed on the cross for all. (Miracle 2) Following, the process of sanctification begins and we are given a new nature, the nature of our very GOD himself. He shares his very self with us! (Miracle 3)
For some, the process of sanctification is slow, for others sudden; yet, we’re all being conformed into the image of GOD’s perfect and only son, Jesus Christ. How, we ask? (Well, that’s another miracle). We are conformed into the image of Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit. Just as verse 27 says. GOD puts his spirit within our hearts and then enables us to walk where he wills and do as he commands.
What an amazing GOD we serve and love. He is not solely our LORD, he is also our friend. He cares for us so much. So much so, he helps us become more and more like him each day. WOW. A GOD who helps us become as amazing as he is! Now that is a GOD who loves!
Ezekiel 36.25-27
25 I will sprinkle clean water on you, and you will be clean; I will cleanse you from all your impurities and from all your idols. 26 I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh. 27 And I will put my Spirit in you and move you to follow my decrees and be careful to keep my laws.
