Our Suffering Savior [Mark 15.22-29]

The moment that gave us eternal life cost Jesus his life. He experienced derision, mockery, and death. Scripture says He descended into the lower parts of the earth (Ephesians 4). A place we believers will never have to go. He didn’t have to go there either. But he chose to. For you and for me. Little did they know as they crucified him, he would re-build the temple in three days the temple of his own body. For we have a suffering savior who holds the power of life and death in his tongue. This is what we celebrate on Easter, our risen savior, Jesus Christ, the one who loved us enough to die in our place and did so willingly. This is the God we worship, our precious savior, kind, and Lord Jesus!

[Mark 15.22-29]

15.22 And they brought him to the place called Golgotha (which means Place of a Skull).  23  And they offered him wine mixed with myrrh, but he did not take it.  24  And they crucified him and divided his garments among them, casting lots for them, to decide what each should take.  25  And it was the third hour  when they crucified him.  26  And the inscription of the charge against him read, “The King of the Jews.”  27  And with him they crucified two robbers, one on his right and one on his left.   29  And those who passed by derided him, wagging their heads and saying, “Aha! You who would destroy the temple and rebuild it in three days.
