In this passage, we turn to the sending of 72 disciples who were to prepare the way for Jesus. He sends them out prepared and ready so that He is able to share the ministry and prepare his disciples for what was to come after His death. We are also invited to share in the ministry that Jesus extends to us.

1 After this the Lord appointed seventy-two others and sent them on ahead of him, two by two, into every town and place where he himself was about to go.
