Christmas Readings

Greetings,

The Daily is a resource we use at Downtown Hope to equip the Body with an inductive study of God’s Word throughout the week as we join Him in seeking the transformation of our city through the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Over these next few weeks, we are giving our authors a break. However, we encourage you to continue a regular  rhythm of abiding in Christ through prayer and reading scripture.

Below are some readings from the Revised Common Lectionary to meditate on in place of The Daily. As a guide, we encourage you to use the same questions our authors normally expound on to guide and deepen your time of study:

Monday, December 23 - Isaiah 9:2–7
Tuesday, December 24 - Psalm 96
Wednesday, December 25 - Luke 2:1–14
Thursday, December 26 - Luke 2:15-20
Friday, December 27 - Titus 2:11–14

Monday, December 30 - Isaiah 63:7–9
Tuesday December 31 - Psalm 148
Wednesday, January 1 - Hebrews 2:10–18
Thursday, January 2 - Matthew 2:13–18
Friday, January 3 - Matthew 2:19-23

[ WHAT ] is this passage saying and what is a key truth that we learn?

[ HOW ] is the Lord calling me to a concrete step of action/obedience?

[ WHO ] am I walking with and praying for to discover Jesus?

We look forward to starting our daily email back in second week of January as we begin our study through the gospel of Matthew.  Merry Christmas!
