Today we begin in Hebrews 12. This passage reflects Jesus’ humility, and encourages us to respond to it with the same mindset as Christ Jesus. I hope that you are encouraged and find rest through God’s word today. Praise King Jesus.

How are we rehearsing our stories on this Monday, November 11, 2019? Do those around us hear God’s stories interwoven with our own? How is God’s grand plan of redemption written on our hearts and minds as we encounter good or beautiful things. How about the difficult or tedious? When is the last time you strolled, rejoicing, down your own personal Hall of Faith? “Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful,” Hebrews 10:23.

Today's passage is an exploration of faith through numerous examples in the Old Testament. These exemplars were anything but. These were people, like you and me, full of faults. Their stories include a variety of sins: lying, murder, and prostitution to name a few, and so much doubt and faithlessness throughout.
Luke
In this passage, we see faith defined through the actions of our ancestors and the model of faith that they have set for us. As humans, we often rely on our senses to explain the tangible world, but God calls us to use our spirit to have a confident step in full faith, rather than a “blind leap”, in Him and to earnestly seek Him.

Today's passage closes out Hebrews and our Then God Sat Down series. Through Hebrews, we've been encouraged, exhorted, admonished, and challenged in so many ways. Even in the last few sentences, the Holy Spirit through the author is still prodding us forward: toward continued prayer, toward a clear conscience, and to be more fully equipped for the work God has laid out for us. Let the word of God continue to inspire you daily to continue to make progress in leading a life that is more honoring of God and beneficial for your brothers and sisters and the world that so desperately needs the love we have to share.
